This
four-week progressive vocal production training session will provide women of
all ages and musical backgrounds the opportunity to learn a fun, exciting
hobby of singing four-part harmony in the barbershop style.
Southern Accent Show Chorus is one of
over 600 choruses in this
worldwide organization. Director Cherri Barmore says, "Our goal is to promote
four-part a cappella harmony throughout our community through education,
performances and fun!"
Visitors are encouraged to attend any of their open rehearsals held
weekly at 6:30 pm on Thursdays at First Christian Church at the corner of
Loop Road and Forsythe Avenue in Monroe.
One of the goals of Sweet Adelines is education, and education comes to
the forefront with the upcoming "Vocal Production"
which are open to women of all ages and all singing experience. It is not
necessary to read music to participate. The lessons will include breath
control, posture and singing basics that you can use whether you’re
singing in the shower or your church choir. Any woman of average singing
ability, with or without vocal training, will find a part that fits her
voice range.
FREE VOCAL PRODUCTION Lessons start on April 30 with Registration at 6:15
PM and will
continue for four consecutive weeks on Thursdays (April 30, May 7,
14, and 21). Weekly lessons will be
taught between 6:30 - 8:30 p.m. at First Christian Church, 3400
Forsythe Avenue, Monroe.
Come by and discover for yourself the
opportunities available through Sweet Adelines. You will have a chance to
broaden your musical horizons and enjoy the friendships of other women who
enjoy singing as much as you do. Most of our members come for the music
and stay for the lifelong friendships we form.
