Hello from the Monroe, Louisiana, Sweet Adelines!
We are a women's barbershop harmony chorus preserving this musical art form through education and performance.
The name of our chapter is "Southern Accent Show Chorus" and in 2006, we proudly began the Monroe group, and became one of over 600 choruses worldwide. The nearest other chapter is in Ruston, Louisiana. Worldwide, there are over 25,000 women singing this 4-part a cappella harmony!
Performing throughout northeast Louisiana at civic events, private gatherings, and public service activities, we also perform in March each year at the Region 25 annual conference in the Dallas area, where women from Louisiana, Missouri, Texas, Oklahoma, and Arkansas compete to keep performing skills at the highest levels, at the beautiful Eisemann Center performing arts center in Richardson, Texas, (Dallas area).
In Monroe, we invite you to visit any open rehearsal, which are held at 6:30 p.m. on Mondays, at the corner of Loop Road and Forsythe Avenue, in the Music Room of the First Christian Church, 3400 Forsythe Avenue, Monroe.
If you are interested in having the chorus or an ensemble or quartet perform at group's next meeting, convention, conference, or other event around the northeast Louisiana area, call 318-598-9440, to schedule quality family entertainment with music, choreography, costumes and comedy.
